Types of Android Services

1.Started Service A service started by an application component (like an Activity) using startService(). It runs until it finishes its task or is stopped explicitly.

2.Bound Service A service that allows components to bind to it using bindService() and communicate with it directly. It runs only as long as another application component is bound to it.

3.Foreground Service Runs with a higher priority and must display a persistent notification. Ideal for tasks users are actively aware of (e.g., music player, fitness tracking).
